St Davids High School

Healthy Schools

SHEP programme

We are pleased to announce that St David’s High School, in conjunction with Flintshire Healthy Schools, will be running the SHEP (School Holiday Enrichment Programme) project for students in year 6 / 7. The programme will take place at St David’s High School for the first three weeks during the summer holidays.

The aim of the scheme is for the students to be provided with a number of fun activities over the three weeks involving specialist workshops and sporting activities (at least 1 hour per day). Students are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing that will enable to them to take part in sport and exercise comfortably.

Students will be provided with a free healthy breakfast and lunch and also learn about how they can make their own healthy meals and snacks at home.

During the scheme there will always be a qualified first aider and safeguarding officer present. The activities have been designed for students to integrate with one another and build on their communication and team work skills.
