Additional Online Learning information
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I hope that you and your family are safe and well. Your health and emotional well-being is always our priority at St. David’s. We’ve all had to adapt to new ways of working, so we wanted to take this chance to say what an amazing job you’re doing supporting your child’s well-being and learning during this time.
As you are probably aware the National Curriculum has now been suspended and some of you may be anxious or frustrated. Please remember we are here for you every step of the way. Also, may I say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for the tremendous support, encouragement and levels of engagement on the ‘home front’ during these last few weeks. I personally have enjoyed practising my number bonds to 20 and key words with my 6-year-old twin girls!
Please take your time to navigate our online learning portal, we are currently revamping it to make it more user friendly so you can access all our online content. I would also like to draw your attention to four excellent websites:
There is so much pupils can learn but remember to set achievable targets, we don’t want to stress out pupils (or parents!) at this difficult time. Academic improvement is important but our prime concern is for you and your family’s health and well-being. If you are feeling stressed or unwell please do not feel the need to engage in any learning activity.
I would also like to take time here to publicly commend my colleagues. I remain in awe of the care, professionalism and dedication continuously demonstrated by each and every one of them as they set daily tasks, assess work returned, supply feedback and directions for further improvement. Many doing so whilst looking after their own children and families.
Finally, let me wish you all well and thank you again for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Steve Richardson
